Amber Rose Got Pissed Off At GQ While Drake Showed Off Some Sweet Dance Moves, And Other Things That Happened This Week

Even though we’ve been counting down the days until the weekend got here since before this week even began, in the words of the most important philosopher of the 21st century, Sir Ferris Buehler, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t slow down and look around, you might miss it.”  Even though I only took one philosophy class in college, I’m pretty sure I understand what he’s talking about.  In that spirit, before we let this week settle into the cloudy heap of drunken nights and caffeine-fueled days better known as our memory, let’s pay honor to the week that was the 3rd full week of October.

Monday

This week started off with a bang: Star Wars: The Force Awakens dropped its first trailer, giving superfans and casual viewers their first look at what the future of life in a galaxy far far away will look like (spoiler alert: there’s lots of sand, and lots of moody music).  Over the weekend, Vegas show pony Britney Spears suffered from a wardrobe malfunction, but as this video proves, a little exposed crack is nothing to a woman who routinely used to flash her vagina in public.  Gwen Stefani released the studio version of her new breakup anthem, “I Used To Love You,” and even though we’re all Team Gwen, I think my boyfriend said it best when he said, maybe it’s time for her to just retire.  Meanwhile, in Canada, Drake dropped his video for “Hotline Bling“, which became an instant classic, as well as the meme heard round the world.

Tuesday

Zooey Deschanel gives birth to a daughter, and names her Elsie Otter as a reminder that life’s not fair.  Some rapper named D.R.A.M. accuses Drake of jacking his song “Cha Cha” for “Hotline Bling”, but instead of reading any of those articles, I just watched this video of Drake hitting tennis balls while dancing instead.  Meanwhile, in California, Kim Kardashian and all of her friends (with the exception of Khloe who has a dying husband to tend to) celebrated her 35th birthday by donning pregnant bellies and photographing themselves.  Weird.

Wednesday

The world freaked out because today was Back to the Future Day.  People all across America spent the day discussing which of the three movies were their favorite, debating the relative merits of living in the future, and commiserating over how it’s not fair that the little girl down the street has a hoverboard and they don’t.  Amber Rose got pissed off over a GQ profile that called her “Wiz Khalifa’s Baby Mama” and “Kanye’s Ex,” because duh.  Meanwhile, on TV, Angela Bassett made her first appearance on FX’s troubled American Horror Story: Hotel, as an ex-Blaxpoitation film actress turned vengeful lesbian vampire.  Sexy.

Thursday

Olympian Gus Kenworthy, and noted friend of Miley Cyrus, came out, Sesame Street introduces its first muppet with autism, and Justin Bieber drops his new single “Sorry”, which is nowhere near half as good as his last single.

Happy weekend-ing, everybody.

What It’s Like To Be 21 With Asherman’s Syndrome

galore_mag_stirrups_ashermans_syndrome

Name: Anonymous

Age: 21

Current city you live in: Los Angeles, CA

Occupation: Student

What condition/ailment are you living with?

I’m living with Asherman’s Syndrome.

Can you give us a little background on the condition? What are the symptoms?

Asherman’s Syndrome is scarring or adhesions on the uterus caused by a D&C from an incomplete miscarriage or an abortion. In my case, an abortion. Symptoms can include lighter or no periods, painful cramping during periods and infertility. I have painful periods because the scarring in my uterus blocks the blood from exiting and I am now infertile.

When were you diagnosed?

Were you already experiencing symptoms when you were diagnosed?

Yes, I had uncharacteristically painful periods after my abortion and when I went to see a new doctor they did a hysteroscopy when they suspected it might be Asherman’s Syndrome.

How does this condition affect your life?

The condition only truly affects me when I get my period. My cramps are extremely painful and require strong pain medication

Long term?

I will need to get surgery to hopefully remove some of the scarring. And even if the surgery is successful, it is unlikely that I will ever be able to have children.

Does it require medication? Does the medication have side effects?

I have pain pills for the intense cramps. They can make me very loopy and high.

What is the hardest part of having the condition for you personally?

I never wanted children, but the hardest part about this condition, besides the pain, is losing my choice to have children if I ever did change my mind. I feel like it’s a pretty fucking cruel irony sometimes, that I lost my ability to have children due to a complication from an abortion.

How does this condition affect you differently being younger compared to those who are diagnosed when they’re older?

I will never have the option to have my own children.

What do you do personally to cope?

Honestly, I try not to think about it. If my pain pills don’t work (sometimes they aren’t strong enough) I smoke a bunch of weed. I try to focus on the doors that have opened in my life now that I can count children out of my future.

How Basecamp Went From Accidental Band To Nashville’s Biggest Up & Coming Artist

Basecamp - Galore

Ambient lo-fi band, Basecamp, are all about doing the unexpected. They’re a trio of producers making electronic music in the mecca of country, Nashville, Tennessee, signed to the fledgling label Owsla of now infamous electronic music artist, Skrillex. And they’re brutally honest about their motivations. When I ask them what drove them to start making the kind of music that they’re doing they tell me that they hadn’t really intended on being a band at all, “There wasn’t really an intention of starting a band when we first started working together,” they explain. “When we first started working, we were just writing songs and we were going to send them off to be put in movies and TV shows to make a little extra money. But, then when we started writing we were like, well this is cool. So it was a bit of an accident, but it was a happy accident for sure.” See? Even the band’s existence itself was unexpected. A few days from when I interviewed them, they’d be heading to Texas to do the unexpected once again– play a show alongside hardcore punk band Power Trip. It’s a strange combination, but the boys seem unfazed. “So I see you’ll be going to Texas soon to play a show with Power Trip…?” I linger a moment before asking them, “Uh, had you ever listened to them before you signed up for that?” One of them laughs at my question before answering, “I hadn’t listened to them before we signed on to this, but I definitely checked them out after I saw that they were on the show,” one of the members tells me, “I’m into it, but it’s definitely a weird…combination. Pretty sure people are going be like ‘what the fuck is this?’ when they hear us.”

From all this I begin to gather a story of sorts: Basecamp seems to have meandered into being, with an origin story that sprawls cities and genres. Two of the members, Aaron Harmon and Jordan Reyes, had been in bands together since they were 14 and 15. “We started off as a crazy industrial rock band like “Ministry”. We were a rap/rock band for a while, too. Then we started a prog rock band, and we did that for a really long time. Then we were a punk band for a while. And, that was kind of the last band for a while before Basecamp. ” After they quit their punk band they started producing music, which is when they stumbled upon Aaron Miller who had been producing for and working with a hip hop artist at the time. That’s when the three of them started creating music together, and realized that what they were doing was fun enough, and more importantly interesting enough to shift from “side project” meant to earn them all a little extra income, to their main focus. “All of us are really influenced by a lot of crazy types of music. We did prog rock for such a long time and then we did all this music theory in school. It wasn’t until we started messing around with Basecamp stuff that we kind of rediscovered experimentation.”

And their music? Like band’s origin story, it’s sprawling and meandering, rife with genre bending details. Sometimes it sounds like Blockhead, other times Sam Smith, and still other times, the heavy use of synth mimics Canadian electronic duo, Purity Ring. Those synths slip and slide, or drop out entirely leaving only a singular drum in the background only to reemerge at full volume. But, unlike Purity Ring, Basecamp tempo and volume changes are seamless which makes for less turbulence and urgency, more bluesy sleepiness. And while that seamlessness is probably a product of their professional training and music mastery (all of the members studied music at University) it occasionally creates a sense of– here we go again– unexpected familiarity. Something about Basecamp, even with all its genre blending and mixed methods of production, sounds like something we’ve heard before. Which isn’t a bad thing, in fact, its actually makes for an, at once, comforting and wondrous experience when you’re listening to them while high. I wouldn’t know from experience, though.

Sarah Parker Of BunnyDreamz On Turning Her Tumblr Into A Fashion Mecca

Sarah_Parker_Galore_Mag_1

Sarah Parker has achieved every millennial’s dream: she’s gone from Tumblr queen to full blown creative director of her own line, up and coming artist, and even makeup designer. Within the same week she released her glitter brow gel designed with GBY, Sarah opened an art show, hustled on myriad of projects, AND worked a day job. How does one girl do it all? Keep reading to find out.

How did you create Bunny Dreamz?

I was just tired of wearing everything, all my clothes seemed old and played out to me, everyone was on a “trend” of wearing the same things and looking the same. It made me not want to shop anywhere. I started getting ideas from going to thrift stores, where I’d see something I liked and want to either change it or wear it differently. I decided to take it even further and create my own line! It was awesome, I had played with the idea in the past when I designed for the OF girls’ line. I kind of had idea of how to start a line from that, and so I did.

Your favorite part of working on BunnyDreamz?

When I think of a great idea and write it down or draw it out, that’s my favorite part. That’s when I feel the most creative and like I’m doing something. Then seeing my ideas go from paper to something real that I can hold in my hands and wear! That’s amazing to me!, and it still amazes me after all this time.

You recently had an Art Show on Melrose. Tell us a bit about it?

It was awesome to see that people wanted to come out and see my work! Even people I had never met before showed up. It’s still up, and you can check it out at Fred Segal Melrose in Mauro’s Café. Also, that café is amazing: great food and coffee!

Was it crazy working on the eyebrow glitter, putting together your art show, and running BunnyDreamz at the same time?

I try not to stress on the little things, but I’m also a Virgo and OCD, so everything is a bit more dramatic for me. I was up painting till 5am, and working at Melody Ehsani on Fairfax, running BunnyDreamz and getting ready for a holiday drop, and working an event for Perrier as well! On top of that, I was getting ready for the Gittler Gel drop and taking photos for my blogs so I stay relevant and don’t fall off the face of the Earth. With all that, though, sometimes falling off the face of the Earth sounds nice! But I’m so thankful to be busy: I wouldn’t have it any other way!

What was your biggest career breakthrough?

I’m not sure if I’ve had one yet; I’m still broke! But great things take time, so I’m being patient. I work so I’m not a complete starving artist who has to use my food money for paint. I’m coolin, but I know so much more is to come. For that reason, I’m happy not to have broken through yet.

What’s next for you?

The world! But of the tangible things, Art Basel *fingers crossed* and a BunnyDreamz holiday drop. And more art, but that’s forever.

Name: Alana Brown

Age: 24

Current city you live in: San Francisco, California

Occupation: Assistant Producer

What STD do you have?

Genital Herpes

What are the symptoms of the STD?

I get these sores around my vagina that are very painful and make it hard to wear clothes or even sit down. A breakout can last anywhere from a couple days to a couple weeks depending on if you have the medication.

Is there medication for it/is it curable?

Herpes is incurable. There is medication you can take to help the symptoms when a breakout occurs. There is also preventative medication you take all the time to stop the breakouts from occurring.

When were you diagnosed?

I noticed a painful sore on my vagina and thought maybe it was a zit or a rash, but when it didn’t go away and more started to appear I went and got myself tested at Planned Parenthood. They called a week later and told me I had genital herpes.

Do you know how you contracted the STD?

I’m ashamed to say no. I was having unprotected sex with several different partners when I was diagnosed.

How has having this STD affected your life?

I am basically the poster girl for condoms now and I make sure all of my friends and loved ones know how shitty it can be if you don’t use a condom. I also won’t have sex at all if I have a breakout.

Your love/sex life (relationship with partner if you have one)?

I don’t have a boyfriend, but if I were to get into something more serious with someone I would obviously tell them I had herpes before anything happened.

Do you need to take medications? Are there side effects?

I take the medication to help when a breakout occurs, but I have an appointment with my gyno to get the preventative medication because I can’t take the breakouts anymore.

What methods are you using to cope with living with an STD?

I won’t lie, it really, really sucks. I’ve gotten really depressed about it sometimes because my sex life and romantic life is changed forever and it’s my own fault for not using protection.

Do you have a support system?

Yes, I have a strong group of friends and family supporting me.

This Utah Teacher Almost Got Fired For Running A Fitness Instagram

Mindi_Jensen_1_Galore_Mag

Are you really fit if you don’t post photos of yourself in a sports bra at the gym? Well, yes, but for some of the people I follow on the gram, it seems like their main reason for getting fit is to post pictures looking hot.

Utah middle school teacher Mindi Jensen nearly lost her job over her Instagram account full of these #fitpics. Jensen is a competitive body builder when she’s not busy molding the minds of young students, and the PTA mommies don’t approve of her after-school activities. One of her student’s parents found Jensen’s Instagram, which was full of pictures of her at body building competitions and working out. The parent called it “pornographic,” and soon enough, so many parents complained that the school gave Jensen three options: make the profile private, take the pictures down or be fired.

Most of us relish the privacy options on Instagram because we’re afraid of this exact same situation. A potential employer finding pictures of you in a bikini or popping bottles means you for sure won’t get a call back. But Jensen’s pictures weren’t obscene or unprofessional (despite the fact that they weren’t exactly modest). Rather, they were motivational, they connected her to the supporting health community of Instagram, and her body building even helped her cope with a divorce, so after briefly deleting her pictures, she decided no more.

“Why am I taking this picture off, I get comments and messages that it’s inspirational to them and these women like my story,” she told a local ABC News affiliate. “If I put it to private, it’s not going to reach these people that might need and understand me.”

So Jensen kept her profile public and the school realized they were freaking out for no good reason. Just goes to show: even teachers have to be careful about what they post on social media.

Adele Announces ’25’, The Perfect Soundtrack for your Fall Feelings

After a 3 year hiatus, Adele announced on Instagram her new album by posting a beautifully shot close up portrait simply captioned “25 out November 20th”. She had previously shared a personal note on Twitter, sharing troubles that we’ve all had, like wishing we’d grow up faster, but also wanting to stay young forever. She ends the note apologizing for taking so long because “life happened” and we are so glad the wait is finally over. According to the Fader, the album is 11 tracks long and includes collaborators like Sia and Pharrell. Adele calls 25 “a make-up record”, making up with herself, for lost time, everything she did or didn’t do, and if it’s anything like 19 or 21 we can expect 25 to be full of heart wrenching ballads. The first track released off the album is Hello, a breakup song accompanied by a music video directed by filmmaker Xavier Dolan. While the video features an antiquated flip phone, Adele sings about heartbreak in a way that is just as relevant as ever. If Hello is any indication of the rest of the record, 25 comes just in time for those moody fall nights. Watch the music video below, and make sure to pre-order the album!

Artist Elohim Reveals The Reason Behind Why She Conceals Half Of Her Face

ELOHIM_GALORE_2

From her floaty vocals mixed with dreamy bass-lines to her recent debut AA-side 12″ single via B3SCI Records featuring “She Talks Too Much” + “Xanax,” (which Zane Lowe premiered on Apple Music/Beats 1!), LA based artist Elohim still has a mysterious persona, and that’s why we love her. Elohim reveals the reason behind why she conceals half of her face, what it was like to perform at MIT and so much more, below!

Why and when did you decide to conceal your face?

It was a moment of spontaneity, where we were experimenting and happened to create this beautifully weird, masked image. It was so dark and mysterious, but oddly sexy at the same time. The juxtaposition of this lean body wearing a mask while holding a cigarette made it seem like a painting. As soon as the photo developed I knew it was the one. It gave me a feeling that coincided with what I wanted others to feel when they experience my music. Mystery lends itself to intrigue, and leaves room to unravel.

You customize most of your clothing! How did this start?

It started as a way for me to bridge the gap between what I wanted to wear and what was available. Every time I would go shopping I would find current trends uninteresting, and end up just buying the basic pieces so I could transform them into what I envisioned. It’s fun for me and the only way to dress exactly how I’d like to.

Tell us about what it was like performing at MIT!

Wow, performing at MIT was a very special night for me. Boston is such an enchanting city and there’s this magical feeling in the air as soon as you arrive. The students there were incredibly down to earth and warm hearted. For being known as such a prestigious school, they have a genuine passion for music and art that was truly inspiring. The setting had so much character, it was a classically designed courtyard that felt straight out of a movie. It was that intimate setting and the brisk fall night that made me feel like it was exactly where I was supposed to be. The students were all truly fans of my music and it was exciting to spend time with all of them. We packed up and drove back to New York that night at 1am, it was worth every minute of the drive.

6 Things Girls Are Really Thinking When They Send Nudes

guy_cellphone_nudes_galore

1. I’m Feeling Myself

Sometimes, he’s not receiving nudes because of anything he did at all. Hell, he probably doesn’t even really deserve these nudes. But, when you’re feeling yourself, you’re feeling yourself. Maybe you walked out of the shower and are amazed at how great you look after your spin class, or maybe you’re on vacation and need to show off those tan lines to someone. Either way, you’re really just trying to show off. And you know what? That’s totally cool.

2. We Want Him to be Reminded of What He Has

So maybe you noticed that his most recently visited website is xxxbigbootybitches.com and we need to remind him that he’s got his own big booty bitch at home. Maybe we’re long distance and we want to make sure the only place his eyes are wandering is to the front of his Iphone screen. Either way, it’s no secret that girls can use their bodies to get what they want, and sending nudes is no exception.

3. We Want You to Be Proud of Us

Every girl loves a dude who brags about her. Sure, we know that the bragging is more along the lines of “my girlfriend gives the best blowjobs ever” and not “my girlfriend has the kindest heart,” but we take what we can get. Honestly, if my man really wants to show my nudes to his BFF, I’m almost okay with it, because it means that he feels the need to show me off (as he should).

4. He Did Something Right

Unlike girls that require time, money, effort, and food to be satisfied; boys are pretty easy. If you can’t give a blowjob to express your gratitude, at least send a titty pic. Maybe he remembered to pick you up peanut butter ice cream on his way home from work, maybe he gave you a back massage this morning; either way, a sext seems like a proper way to thank a man, doesn’t it?

5. He’s Having a Bad Day

Even if he didn’t necessarily do something right, we genuinely like to put a smile on our man’s face. I don’t know about you, but I think the happiest I’ve ever seen my boo is when his face is in between my boobs. If you can’t let him motorboat you at that exact moment, you can send him a digital motor-boating experience (hello, snapchat video?) Even bae’s baddest days can be better with a picture of your boobies, use those suckers for good, not evil!

6. You Better Appreciate Them

If we send a guy a nude and he doesn’t send at least three sentences in a row acknowledging how god damn sexy we are and how he’s currently attempting to hide his boner? No more nudes for him. Guys need to realize that we don’t just send nudes to anyone, and he’s sort of special. We want our man to cherish these nudes in any way, shape, or form that he can. Maybe a shrine above his bed? Who knows, we’re open to suggestions.

7 Things Lana Del Rey Revealed In Her New ‘Billboard’ Interview

Galore_mag_lana_billboard

In a new interview (accompanying a cover shoot) for Billboard, Lana Del Rey spoke openly with Bruce Wagner, an interviewer who admires Lana’s success as it’s own entity and aspect of Lana’s icon. “I’m so grateful,” Lana said. “I am aware that it could easily not have happened. That I could have become…an American nightmare. I see her —Lana— I listen to her and watch her, and I’m…protective.”

Despite being protective, their candid conversation covers everything you might want to know about the mysterious pop singer; Lana spilled about her relationships to relationships, surprising aspirations, reflections on her own career, and her own long-standing battle with anxiety. Here, we compile all the juicy details and our favorite moments from the interview, tailored for the true Lana fan.

  1. She wants to make a short film. “I’ve been thinking it might be time to do a longer video, a 40-minute video. I was watching The Sandpiper, and I was working on something kind of based on that.”
  2. She’d like to write a book. “I’d like to write a book one day. But you need a beginning, a middle and an end! I can deal with four minutes — but I’m not so sure about a book.”
  3. On her first boyfriend: “I remember when I was 16, I had a boyfriend. I think he was… 25? I thought that was the best thing. He had an F-150 pickup and let me drive it one time. I was so high up! I panicked and was worried I might kill someone — run over a nun or something. I started to shake. I was screaming and crying. I saw him looking over, and he was smiling. He said, “I love that you’re out of control.” He saw how vulnerable I was, how afraid, and he loved that. The balance shifted from there. I had the upper hand — until then.”
  4. She likes having a boyfriend. “For someone like me—and it’s not a codependent thing—I just like having someone there. I’ve been alone, and that’s fine. But I like to come home and have someone there. You know, to say, “Oh, he’s here.”
  5. How Lana deals with panic attacks. And what else scares her. “To calm myself down. I reward myself. You know, “If I finish this, then I’ll do that” — I’ll go for a walk on the beach or swim in the ocean. I go for swims and am actually shocked I do that. Because one thing I’m terrified of is sharks.”
  6. She loves Leonard Cohen. “I love Leonard—because he’s all about women. Women and God.”
  7. Her perfect role: “Someone wanted me to be Sharon Tate. I thought, “That’s so right.” At that time, there were three Manson movies being talked about, but none were ever made. So maybe that was the answer.”

6 Real Stories From Real American Apparel Employees That Are Crazier Than You Could Ever Imagine

American Apparel - Galore Mag

If you live in Los Angeles, and are pursuing a career in the fashion industry, working for the mass-producer American Apparel, is essentially a twisted “right of passage.” Everyone’s done it, and if you haven’t, you know someone who has. In August, the company reported in a press release, “We believe that we may not have sufficient liquidity necessary to sustain operations for the next twelve months,” or in simpler terms, they can’t pay for shit. Why? Because long-time CEO Dov Charney‘s balls refused to stay stuck to his hairy leg, that’s why.

Could the sudden decline in business be credited to the recent firing of Charney who was accused of multiple illicit and inappropriate acts of sexual harassment earlier in the year? Or are form-fitting body suits and high-waisted denim shorts just consequently not a “thing” anymore? I asked some reliable sources and previous employees (who will remain anonymous) of the company for their most outrageous experiences that took place while they were involved with the company, and it seems as if Charney’s creepy text messages wouldn’t have been the only scandal boiling in the American Apparel cauldron.

1. My Boss Was A Heroin Addict

At the location I worked at in Michigan, my district manager would always get sent on trips to train different district managers and whatnot. One time, he got back from a trip and he didn’t get his expense check, which is essentially the company paying you back for whatever you spent during your trip. He called and asked corporate if they could send him another check because he “really needed the money”, so they sent him another check, and he ended up getting both checks on the same day. He then went to two separate check-cashing places to cash these checks and succeeded. After one check bounced with the store owner, the store owner kept coming in, accompanied by huge, scary dudes looking for the district manager. He was nowhere to be found. The corporate office then emailed my manager to ask if he could come to train some new employees—as soon as he landed, they fired him on the spot. I guess that’s what happens when you steal money from the company to buy more heroin.

2. My Manager Was Marlon Wayans’s Mistress

She would come into the store all distraught all the time. She was really hush-hush about who she was dating, but everybody knew so it became this kind of weird joke between us all.

3. I Fooled Around With My Boss’s Girl

I once hooked up with another employee in the fitting room. This is probably really inappropriate. At another time, I was dating one of Dov’s “girls,” as he had multiple. She was going to his house to drop someone off or something and he saw us together and he yelled at her, “What the fuck are you doing with him?!”—he was pretty creepy and possessive, and would give me a bunch of shit at work. Another thing? I used to just let people just steal at my store. This all sounds really bad, but it was really this apathetic time of life and at the same time I was kind of indicative of the company.

4. I Told Foxy Brown She Wasn’t a VIP

I was working on the sales floor at the Flatbush Avenue store in Brooklyn and Foxy Brown walked in. She just comes in and is just shopping around, being nice, but definitely also had a weird vibe, and seemed to feel somewhat entitled. When I began to ring up her selections, which included a $45 wrap dress, she began insisting that she receive a VIP discount. I responded, “You know, I’m really sorry but I can’t give you a VIP discount because those aren’t..a thing.”

She then starts rattling off “Well, I know Dov! I could get him on the phone right now if I wanted to!”

I told her, “Okay, if you know Dov Charney, you can get him on the phone and he can tell me to give you a VIP discount, but I just have never given a VIP discount before. So unless you can do that, I can’t do anything.”

She’s getting more upset, and shows me her receipt of her discount she had gotten a week before. The “VIP discount” she described was actually a promotion that was on-going all the time. I then had to explain to her that this promotion just meant if you brought three of the same thing you got 15% off each one. We literally do this for anyone in the store. She got even more upset and began telling me I was a nobody. I’m just standing there like, yes, I work at American Apparel, I’m pretty aware that I’m a nobody. I found out later that Foxy Brown apparently would come in all the time asking for discounts that didn’t exist.

5. Drag Queens Stole All Our Wigs

At the store I worked at, we started getting really nice wigs for the mannequins that were made of real hair and apparently, the hair on them was really nice. We would literally have women walking out of our store with wigs in their hands, where they would then take them down the street to a hair salon and use them to get their weaves. That was pretty amazing.

6. I Modeled for Dov When I was Fifteen

I was fifteen at the time, and I went with my brother, who was working for American Apparel, to Dov’s house. They decided they wanted to do a photoshoot so they made me sign a waiver claiming that I was eighteen. The girl then basically just tells me “Take off your bra” and I was fifteen and I didn’t know what to do so I just kind of panicked and I did what she told me, which was take off my bra. She dressed me in a t-shirt and jeans, then had me lay on a bed in a pose. All I could think about was the fact that my nipples were out and about what my mom would think if she saw me in that moment.

According to Vanity Fair, the Jenner sisters are recently facing new drama after being sued over a t-shirt they released in their new clothing line for Pac Sun. The company suing, Island Company, claims that the sisters stole their slogan and put a very similar slogan of their own on one of their t-shirts that they sell through Pac Sun. The original slogan stated, “Quit your job. Buy a ticket. Get a tan. Fall in love. Never return.” But the new slogan on the sister’s shirts stated, “Run away. Fall in love. Never return”, which does pose a similarity to the original.

The Island Company released a statement regarding the lawsuit, saying that the copy is “likely to cause confusion, mistake and deception among consumers, the public and the trade among consumers, the public and the trade as to whether defendants’ products or services are affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by plaintiff.” The Island Company asks the Jenners to remove the t-shirt from their clothing line, but no one actually knows what the outcome of this lawsuit will be.

We are on the edge of our seats for everything that Rihanna does, whether it’s a slightly off kilter interview or the promise of another killer Victoria Secret fashion show performance. We are so thirsty for any bit of information especially after Bad Gal RiRi revealed the title and artwork for her new album, and while we still haven’t heard any further about that, Rihanna gave us something new to talk about, her new navy blue hair. Last night at CBS Radio’s third annual We Can Survive concert, Rihanna debuted her new tresses, pulled back in a messy ponytail, the cool hue popped in just the right lighting, think more sunlight glinting off the ocean versus a pastel shade. MTV has pointed out that Rihanna has a habit of changing her hair for each new release, a pixie cut for Unapologetic, a fiery red for Loud. So what could this hair color mean for Anti? Well, after consulting our trusty mood ring charts, Ri’s blue tint can be interpreted as a mix of relaxed, calm, and passion. We can’t argue that Rihanna seems as confident as ever, maybe foreshadowing major IDGAF bad bitch vibes for the new release.

Cryotherapy Health Fad Leads To A 24-Year-Old Woman Freezing To Death

There are some crazy inventions and fads in the name of health and beauty. We have come full circle with waist-training, also known as corsets, which basically squishes your internal organs. People are now drinking ‘raw’ or unpasteurized milk to get all of the protein and nutrients they can get, and unfortunately, they are also getting all the infection-causing bacteria that comes with it too. And apparently individuals are now freezing themselves in cryotherapy tubes at -240 degrees Fahrenheit in a new attempt to lose weight. This new trend, however, had more tragic results. A female employee at one of the salons that offer cryotherapy treatments froze to death in one of the machines this past week.

Chelsea Ake, the 24-year old employee of Rejuvenice Salon in Las Vegas, Nevada was found dead inside one of the cryotherapy machines after apparently dying of an ‘operator error,’ reports Fox News. Friend and fellow employee, Shae-Lynn Bee, says, “I do know that she was alone closing the shop up, and then did go into the machine and apparently did not turn it off.” According to investigators she died within seconds of entering the machine, although her exact cause of death will not be known until the autopsy.

Cryotherapy treatment has many benefits, including reducing inflammation, burning calories, and it even slows down aging. But at what cost? Sure beauty is pain, but beauty shouldn’t be death. Along with the benefits of all of these innovative new health trends, comes serious and even fatal side effects and risks. Maybe that extra poundage isn’t looking so bad after all.

This Is What Happens When You Text Your Boo Using Only Justin Bieber Lyrics

Rumors have been flying around that all of Justin Bieber’s latest work was written about Selena Gomez. Whether this is true or false, you can’t deny that his three latest singles all sound like texts from your ex. I mean seriously, “What Do You Mean?, “Where Are You Now?,” and “Sorry.” I’ll take bets that the next track is going to be called either “I Miss You” or “Can We Talk?”

The track titles have been so conversational, that I wondered if you could actually use all three sequentially in conversation without a dude noticing. While I don’t have the balls to text my ex (at least not when I’m sober, anyways) I figured if I texted my current boo it would have the same effect. I also convinced two of my girlfriends to try the same thing with their current fuck buddies/boyfriends. While some dudes picked up on the J Biebs lyrics immediately (maybe they’re big fans?) others seemed to not be affected whatsoever by the inquisitive texts, they probably thought we were just being “crazy girls” as usual.

On Monday night, a bevy of Hollywood’s biggest names, packed their beautiful selves into the Getty Center in LA to celebrate the first-ever InStyle Awards.

Obviously, some stars were more stylish than others, but nobody did it better than Kim Kardashian, who looked positively radiant in all-white, skin tight maxi dress complete with a long, flowing cape.  Seriously, this bitch has been pregnant for eight months, and I swear she’s only getting sexier.

Kim was personally on hand at the event to present Charlotte Tilbury the award for Makeup Artist of the Year, saying, “She believes that makeup makes you feel empowered and confident and I love that about her.  Truly, if I wasn’t doing what I’m doing now I would be a makeup artist, so I respect the work that is really put into it.”

Showing she has a sense of humor, Kim capped off her night by taking a picture with all her A-list besties, captioning it, “Feeling extra thin with all of the super models!  LOL”

Also on the path of righteous fashion were Gwyneth Paltrow, whore floor-length, backless, black velvet gown with silver detailing was simply to die for:

Olivia Culpo, Miranda Kerr and Alesandra Ambrosia all looked absolutely stunning:

Honoree of the evening Zoe Kravitz who showed up wearing a sheer Calvin Klein gown and the best accessory a girl can have, her beautiful mother, Lisa Bonet:

And speaking of her beautiful mother, did anybody else miss the memo that Lisa Bonet was married to Game Of Thrones eye candy Jason Momoa?  Girl is winning.  On every front.

And then, there were the more polarizing looks:

Kate Hudson chose a vaguely tasteless floor-length pastel Giles Deacon gown, complete with a train, a prominent print, and accented with a line of 3D blooms starting at her shoulder and running down the length of her gown.

Emmy Rossum showed up in some brown pleated leather bullish*t:

Julia Roberts wore a confusing green lace dress featuring an exposed front zipper, a red and black sash and frills around the cleavage:

And our girl Selena Gomez wore a fluffy, white diaper skirt paired with a black mesh top.  While the top is clearly a part of her style revival, the skirt is clearly something she’ll have to say sorry for later. Oh well, at least her new bestie, Michelle Williams was looking hot.  It’s so all about the arm candy these days.

Oh well, Selena – there’s always next year.

Gwen Stefani Sang “Hotline Bling” Karaoke, And Totally Nailed It

It’s no secret that Gwen Stefani has had a rough couple of months.  After thirteen years of marriage, this August Gwen separated from her husband, Gavin Rossdale.  While most of us would want to spend all winter hibernating in a cocoon of never-ending tears, Netflix and Seamless orders, Gwen Stefani hasn’t let a little lost love affect her cool.

Last night Gwen, who is currently the coach of what is most definitely the weakest team on NBC’s The Voice right now, and her fellow coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams paid a visit to Jimmy Fallon’s house, where they played a rousing game of “Spin the Microphone.”  Basically, each coach would spin an actual microphone, and whichever coach it landed on had the option of either singing the song Jimmy Fallon had provided for them, or passing it along to another coach.

gwen_stefani_hotline_bling_two_galore_mag

First up, Adam Levine (who thankfully has hair on top of his head again) sang a lackluster rendition of the bubblegum pop classic, “Oops…I Did It Again,” followed by Blake’s lively rendition of “YMCA.”  However, the night belonged to Gwen, who was picked to sing a duet version of Drake’s mega-hit, “Hotline Bling.”

Unfortunately for her, she was paired with Blake Shelton, who had never heard the song before, so his contributions were limited to intermittently leaning into the microphone and halfheartedly intoning, “Bling.”

Oh well, at least she sounded good.

Apparently People Really Like Pube Oil

Pubes.

Just like fashion, their desired appearance seems to follow the trend of the times. You may shudder at the thought of a full-bush, but your grandmother would probably be horrified at the fact that your pubes resemble those of a pre-pubescent child.

Whether your pussy is as smooth as a baby’s bottom, or you shave your boyfriend’s initials into your cootchie, your pubes don’t always cooperate. If you ever felt like you needed to give your hair down there some extra TLC, a new oil designed for your pubes just hit the shelves this weekend.

Aptly named ‘fur oil,’ the product guarantees silky smooth pubes with its blend of grape seed, jojoba, tea tree, and clary sage seed oils. But, why do you need smooth pubes? Is your boo stroking them or braiding them? Especially if you’re shaving your pubes, there doesn’t really seem to be a need for this somewhat pricey product (it retails at $39 per bottle, which is 2.5 fluid ounces.) However, when you take a closer look, you may notice that the oil is antiseptic, antimicrobial, and works to prevent ingrown hairs. That’s something that everyone can get on board with, men and women.

In fact, maybe you should get this gift for your boo instead, as a little hint? Then again, I’m not sure if any man is worthy of a $39 body product…Maybe wait until black Friday to purchase some fur oil for yourself? I’m sure your pubes can survive until no shave November.
