We got an exclusive interview with the lady of lingerie herself…
Who is the Lascivious woman? She is strong, confident and provocative.
What is sexy to you? A quiet confidence and individuality of style and attitude.
What’s your favourite look from AW? I love the Isla range, which is based on our best-selling Classic, Lila- particularly the bra and big knickers. This combination isn’t pictured on the body, but I really like the juxtaposition of the coverage of the big knicker, the super sexy cut outs and provocative effect of the patent eyelet tape. You are both covered and exposed and you have the option of wearing stockings or not.
Which is your favourite piece to wear? It varies between the Lola set and Cara, as both work really well under clothes. Lola is so comfortable and the choice of knicker makes it really versatile. Cara gives an amazing cleavage and the exclusive print on luxurious silk tulle means it is lovely to flaunt!
Which is your favourite Patti shot? Guinevere Van Seenus in Ana suspender and trench. Such an amazing model.
Tell us a bit about your SS13 collection: Lascivious’ collection for SS13 has been inspired by elements of ’90s fashions- with jersey cropped tees, wide band bra’s and leather-effect fabric. There is a strong focus on colour which marks a new development for the brand; with hot corals, vibrant turquoises and sunny yellows borrowed from warmer climates competing in a riot of brights. New shapes have been inspired by basket weaving techniques and geometric patterns seen in nature, with triangles particularly appearing throughout; bringing cohesion to a bold and exciting new range. I’m really excited to see people’s reaction as it feels like a very different Lascivious range!
You collaborated with Fraulein Kink and Atsuko Kudo, are there plans for any more collaborations? I love collaborating! We worked with Tamzin Lillywhite to create a super-hero inspired leather look for SS13. It encompasses shoulder pieces to be worn as outwear over dresses, a neck corset, a bra and knicker and beautifully designed handcuffs all exclusive to Lascivious. I am also currently working with jewellery designer Carol Wiseman to design some jewellery pieces for AW13. It is so inspiring to work with other creatives that you can bounce ideas off, but who also understand your aesthetic; so you can get excited about your project together. It reminds me why I love my job.
Where do you see the brand in 5 years’ time? I see us extending our reach further into new markets such as the Middle East and Asia, as well as building on our current relationships and reinforcing and increasing our web presence. We hope to show again at London Fashion Week and want to work on catwalk shows in future. We expect for Lascivious to continue to grow, and we hope to keep building on our reputation- a brand who produce fierce, contemporary, fashion-forward luxury lingerie!
