Yesterday was the living legend Shalom Harlow’s birthday. As one of the iconic faces of the 90’s, this cat eyed beauty has appeared in campaigns for Cartier, Valentino and Chloe. The 90’s fucked up on a lot of fronts. From the Clinton scandal to the midriff trend, there is a lot from that time that we would like to forget. But it cannot be denied, a lot of bangin beauties were brought to our attention in that decade. Here are four of the legendary models of the 90′s that we never want to forget.
1. Shalom Harlow: This Canadian babe started modeling straight out of high school and went on to make her name as a fashion icon. As if that weren’t jaw dropping enough, she was discovered at a Cure concert, so obviously the lady has taste to boot. Names like Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls have a lot to learn from this former House of Style host.
2. Kate Moss: As if it wasn’t obvious that she is the reigning queen of the 90’s- and today! London born, and one of the influencers of the heroin chic trend, Kate the Great is to this day one of the few models who have overcome the height requirements of the industry. At 40 years old, and a mother, she is stil proving that she is just as hot as ever. After all, how many models can boast Vogue and Playboy?
3. Amber Valetta: An Arizona native, and fellow host of the original House of Style, blonde haired, green eyed beauty found fame in Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein and Versace. She has since transitioned over to film but I prefer to remember her for her glamorous modeling days- not her (failed) movie career.
4. Linda Evangelista: She has been featured on 600 magazine covers and holds the record for most Vogue covers, all photographed by Steven Meisel. She is famous for her quote, insisting that she “wont get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day”. If I were that gorgeous with a pixie cut, I probably wouldn’t either.
