The London Fall 2014 shows have surprisingly brought a lot of glitter, color and pizzaz. So many sequins, rich colors, cool kids and sophistication. On the YAS-YASSSS scale, London Fashion week gets 4- YASSSS! 🎉

It’s like they went into my brain that’s filled with fluffy clouds, tinsel, my little ponies and cotton candy and made it into a collection. Every piece felt like the wardrobe I imagined having as a 9 year old but with a cool kid twist. Holographic tinsel sweatsuits, light up sneakers and the great mix of sport and cute made for a trip down memory lane.
GILES DEACON
“Punk Prep” is what I penned this collection. From sophisticated draped dresses matched with docs, tartan coats in neon green and knit hats. Not to mention having some of the season’s most popular models like our new runway fave Kendall Jenner, our babe Stella maxwell and catwalk staple Cara Delvingne. Should we say Punk grew up or that Prep went bad? or Youth in revolt goes chic. Ok that last one.
MATTHEW WILLIAMSON
More sequins! But that’s expected of Matthew Williamson who seems to always have a great balance of cute and classy. There were his staple whimsical shapes like stars and gems, rich technicolor furs and a black and white motif that gave an art deco mix to the runway.
MARQUES ALMEIDA
Fluffy, soft separates in vibrant colors. This is all about comfort! From satin pajama sets, soft goat hair(?) scarves, comfy knits and denim looks (more elephant bottoms); all I want to do is have a dinner party and hold a martini glass all night while wearing one of these.
MARY KATRANTZOU
Mary Katrantzou’s mirrored designs took a break from being center stage this season. It’s all about quirky trim store staples. From patches to metal buckles and other trimmings you’d find somewhere like M+J, I’m bracing myself for an unholy amount DIY projects on blogs and magazines trying to replicate these. One holographic snakeskin piece did stand out, replicating that won’t be fun for you or the iridescent snake you’d have to kill.
BURBERRY PRO
Scarf + Sweater + Belt = The perfect sophisticated Fall look. So many layers I couldn’t tell what was a dress, or a sweater coat, but I liked it. If this winter has taught us anything it’s that we need to start layering smarter, not bulkier. A mink with goat hair lining made for a cozy new look for the classic burberry trench cut, and the color palette felt very deep and rich.
TOM FORD
What can we say about Tom Ford that hasn’t already been said? His clothes exude sex. But not in the “I want to feel sexy” more in the “I know I’m sexy”. Powerful vibrant colors, tuxedo pants and sexy suit separates made for the woman in charge. But what captured my little eye were the sequined (London is loving the shine) shift dresses with an ode to Jay-z’s “I don’t pop Molly I rock Tom Ford” line.
PETER PILOTTO
Peter Pilotto’s Prized Prints. Always a fan of his beautifully done prints, it was all excitement seeing the fun printed outerwear, scarves and separates. I’m such a huge fan of the head to toe matching print look of yesteryear, very 80s. It makes it easier to get dressed when everything is made to be worn together.
