Big news! The 1997 cult classic “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is getting a modern reboot. It was just announced that Sony recruited “Oculus” director Mike Flanagan to write the film with Jeff Howard and team up with original “Summer” producer Neal Moritz to revamp the slasher flick centered around four friends terrorized by a killer after covering up their involvement in a car accident. Nothing has been revealed in the way of potential cast members but sadly, we can be pretty certain it won’t include the (hot) all-star ’90s ensemble: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr. Our childhood instincts tell us to be incredibly excited for the movie’s new life, but we are also afraid the movie will lose the ’90s campy goodness that the first one so perfectly achieved. For now, let’s push all hesitations aside and just relish in the greatness of “I Know What You Did Last Summer”:
