We sat down with the always flawless, Jean Watts. See her beauty tips below:
We love your full lips! You mentioned you are pro at lip liner! What’s your favorite lip liner and how do you keep it looking natural?
My favorite kind of lip liner consists of rosy and peachy tones. I always go a little outside my natural lip line for the illusion of much fuller lips, leaving the inside a lighter shade. Blending is key in all makeup aspects.
What’s your skincare secret to flawless skin?
I baby the hell out of my skin. I use Cindy Crawford’s microdermabrasion face scrub now and then to get rid of any buildup on the skin. It leaves your skin feeling brand new. I use retinal serum, toners, and a lot of moisturizer at night.
When doing a dark lip, what’s your favorite product?
My favorite product is actually my own! I’m coming out with a new lipstick and lip liner line. It will available in Spring and I am so excited!
If you could only use one beauty product for the rest of your life, which one would it be?
I am so reliant on Clean and Clear’s acne spot treatment. Whenever I see that I’m starting to get a pimple, I just dab it on at night and it’s gone! Wallah!
How do you achieve such sultry lashes?
I’ve always been a huge eyelash person since I was 15 and when no one even knew what fake eyelashes were yet lol. Everyone would look at me like I was crazy :P My mom is a beauty guru so I’ve always been introduced to all types of makeup tricks earlier in life. But I’ve been using Ardell Lashes, Wispies, for years. I like the natural but also cat eye effect that it gives. I don’t like overpowering lashes so much unless you’re trying to achieve a specific look.
You have such full brows! What do you use to fill them in?
I use a powder compact from Sally’s Beauty Supply. I believe it’s Milani Brow Fix. I use a slanted brush to apply. I also use NYX Cosmetics Brow Gel to keep my brows in place because they seem to have a mind of their own. They are stubborn as hell lol!
Biggest makeup mistake you’ve ever made?
I’ve probably made every single makeup mistake you could make and went through my phases that make me cringe looking back at pics lol. One would have to be over drawing my eyebrows and using bronzer all over my face in high school, like not as a contour. I still make bronzer and brow mistakes. The struggle lol! But I use three different powders now for my face. I use the lightest shade from Loreal True Match under my eyes, forehead and chin. I also carry it around to touch up any shine throughout the day. Then I’ll use a medium bronzer, closer to my skin tone for around my face, and then I’ll use their darkest bronzer for contour. Some blush and highlight from MAC and you’re golden ;)
Advice to young girls who aspire to be a singer like you?
Wrap yourself around people who have the same vision for you. As an artist you know what you want and what you have to say and basically, who you are. In the music industry, you’ll have people who have their vision for you. I’ve always been open to hearing and learning from others but if it doesn’t feel right to me then it isn’t. In the end, if it’s not you then everyone else will see that too. The entertainment industry is very difficult, but it’s true when they say – if you can imagine it, you can have it. But know that their are no such things as shortcuts, so don’t get lured into the bullshit. Focus, dedication, hard work, and imagination are all key to any dream come true. FOLLOW YOUR GUT and never ever ever listen to haters. Best advice right thurrr. ;)
