Jasmine V got her break in Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’ video, but her talent has been fully-grown from the start. The 21-year-old singer has an amazing voice and great energy to match. Her incredible spirit has built an extensive network of devoted fans, her Jasminators, who are all excited to support the up-and-coming star as she comes into this year with a new tour and a debut album due this fall. Jasmine is on the brink of stardom and as she opened up to us about her inspirations, what it’s like working with Kendrick Lamar, and her Jasminator diary, we knew that she is someone whom everyone else should take notice.
What can we expect to hear on your anticipated album, later this year?
You can expect to hear love songs, fun dance songs and what my Jasminators love to call, “their diary.” Relatable music that I base off my situations in my life and friends.
What female musicians have inspired you to get into music?
I have a few. I’d say Rihanna, J.Lo, Beyonce and definitely Alicia Keys. She has been my inspiration since I was younger. The fact that she’s so beautiful, talented, sexy and doesn’t even try is amazing.
You were discovered in Justin Bieber’s video “Baby.” How was it working with Justin? It seems the world is out to get him, any thoughts?
Yes, I was. It was a great opportunity and I’m forever grateful for it. I think it’s challenging being in the spotlight at such a young age. I have a lot of respect for him as an artist and I’m excited to see what he has coming up.
How did the song collaboration with Kendrick Lamar come about?
We had met a few times before he hopped on “That’s Me Right There.” He is such a humble person. As soon as we thought about a feature, he just came to my mind and my A&R made it happen.
How would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as fun and relatable. I definitely want it to be something that can make you feel.
What else are you passionate about beside music?
Growing up, I’ve always had a love for animals. I have a cat named Bear that I’m obsessed with!
What song do you have on blast in your car right now?
I’m currently blasting “Ayo” by Chris Brown & Tyga. It’s such a fun song and everyone gets annoyed since I constantly ask them to replay it.
Favorite Disney Princess?
Princess Jasmine! My older brother named me after her.
Are you dating anyone at the moment? If not what type of boys do you like?
No, I’m not currently dating anyone. I do like them tall, with nice eyes but most importantly, they just have to make me laugh.

What is next for you in 2015?
I’m working on the full-length album right now and I’m going on The Reflections Tour with Fifth Harmony!
