We’re psyched about Miami’s StyleSaves charity event tonight: who wouldn’t want to attend a runway show in honor of a good cause? This year, their goal is to raise enough money to dress 2,500 underprivileged children. Christina Pino, founder of Ishine365 (a go-to spot for all the best bikinis from every brand) and the host of the event, gave us a behind the scenes look at what goes into a charity fashion show.
What do you love about Stylesaves?
ISHINE365 is always looking for ways to give back to the community, and Style Saves incorporates our love of both charity and for fashion.
How did you first get involved with the cause?
Co-founder of ISHINE365, Katrina, and I met Rachael Russell, the brains behind StyleSaves, through a mutual friend. ISHINE365 had just launched three weeks before the StyleSaves third annual fashion show. After learning all about it, we knew wanted to be involved!
Which brands are you most excited to see at the event?
We are always excited to see Acacia Swimwear, Kai Lani, Frankie’s Bikinis and Indah.
What’s the best outfit to wear to a charity event but still keep it cool?
Since we’re running around all night, comfort is key. I’m obsessed with my new Schutz nude heels: I can run a marathon in them and they look great with everything.
How can people who aren’t going to SwimWeek get involved with stylesaves?
Go to www.stylesaves.org and find out how to make donations or even find out about upcoming events to take part in. We do a back-to-school event in August where we help dress hundreds of underprivileged children at the Adrienne Arsht Center. We are always looking for volunteers!
Do you work with any other charities? Which one is closest to your heart?
Katrina and I are very passionate about StyleSaves and animal rescue. We are heavily involved with Urgent Dogs of Miami and Urgent Cats of Miami. You learn more about Urgent Dogs on Facebook and Instagram.
