Razzle Dazzle, as she so eloquently has tattooed on her fingers, is what Kerin Rose Weinberg brings to each of her creations. From capsule collections with both Supra Footwear and Mata Hari Handbags, everything she touches shines but she is best known for her covetable, outrageous eyewear, as seen on legends like Grace Jones and current icons like Lady Gaga.
Check out our interview with Kerin below and in our new issue, available HERE! Also, rock some of your own A-morir glasses from our ‘Women In Fashion’ collection in our SHOP!
What piece of yours can’t you live without?
It’s hard to choose just one, From my eyewear collection I rotate between the Adict, Mitchell, Ellington, Hilpert, McDowall, Lorna, Dio, and Halford I.
Who are your fashion influences?
Roger K. Burton, Vivienne Westwood, Cher, Bob Mackie, Elton John, Liberace, Bowie, Grace Jones, Lynn Yaeger, Thierry Mugler, Brandon Maxwell, B. Akerlund.
What type of women do you see wearing your eyewear?
Every type. I don’t ever want my work to feel meangirl and exclusive. If you love it: wear it. If it makes you happy: buy it.
Who’s your favorite woman in fashion?
Vivienne Westwood for life. And call me biased but my friends are some of the best women in fashion: Amanda of Assad Mounser, Zana of Zana Bayne, Becca of Chromat, Natalie of Grey Ant
What’s the best part about being a woman in fashion?
Aside from the painfully obvious notion that I get to go to work every day and create things that make people happy? I get dressed every day for the experience of life, and have been since I was in nursery school. As I’ve gotten older people have become much more open minded and generally positive about interesting daytime ensembles, but it’s nice to have the retort of “I work in fashion” to the idle platitudes I get every now and again about what I’m wearing.
