Model and now designer Kenza Fourati is the subject of Stephan Würth‘s latest editorial. Dressed in only BLK DNM, we’re obsessed with this all black wintery shoot. We asked Kenza a few questions about NYC and her clothing line ByKenz.
What is your favorite part of NYC?
I have a love affair in NYC since I came here for the first time when I was 14. I lived in so many areas that I love redescovering. We walk a lot in Brooklyn, especially since my dog Lil entered my life. Right now, I moved for the first time in Brooklyn and keep wondering why I didnt move here earlier, it’s another beautiful world to discover.
What BLK DNM piece should every girl have in their wardrobe?
BLK DNM is an amazing jeans brand to start with so the jeans fit perfectly. then they have their leathers that became classical if you are a downtown girl at heart, then they have incredible tailoring for a timeless chic twist.
All black everything?
All Black everything, yes but not always. Depending on the mood, I also love all white everything.
What have you been working on? We hear you have a clothing line?
In 2012 after some violent altercations in my home Tunisia, I needed to express myself so I created ByKenz a platform to portray engaged artists and activists from Tunisia mostly or beyond. The brand started first as printed quality tees from these artists I admire much to slowly grow to a wider range of pieces. ByKenz is going through serious structural changes with new investors. I very excited for what is coming soon.
Favorite song of the moment:
I go to a lot of concerts and music festivals and usually a band I loved live, I keep listening over and over. These days it’s a lot of Disclosure and Stromae.
What’s coming up next?
I m very excited for the relaunch of ByKenz. This year has been crazy workwise and travelling wise, I m really looking forward finally settling down in my new Brooklyn pad. I also loved exploring writing for vogue Italia.
