Even if you don’t give a sh*t about boxing, you’re undoubtably aware that tomorrow evening, the undefeated, five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and the eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiano are facing off in what’s being billed as The Fight of the Century.  Although the fight was first proposed in 2009, it’s taken both camps 6 years to negotiate the details.  Well, seeing as the purse for the fight is set at $300-millon, no matter who wins, neither man is leaving Las Vegas a loser.

But like, not to be that girl, but what is it about two men beating the living shit out of each other that people still can’t get enough of?  Entertainment value aside, boxing is a highly dangerous sport. Knocking a person unconscious can cause concussions, permanent brain damage, and in the case of Muhammed Ali, the World’s Greatest, even Parkinson’s.  Since 1980, more than 200 boxers have died due to ring or training injuries, causing the American Medical Association to call for a ban on the sport.  35 years later, not only is boxing alive and well, but it’s even infiltrated our athletic wear.

Over-sized shorts with elastic waistbands, shiny material, and hooded jackets are practically synonymous with hip, athletic wear these days.  I guess if you can’t beat ’em, you might as well join ’em.
